Editorial Guidelines

A review is only worth reading if you know what stands behind it. These are the rules every page on MrWager is held to.

Who writes this

Tom Jansen runs the site and writes it. He works under that name in the casino affiliate industry, sets every rating on these pages, and is responsible for what is published here. MrWager is the stream; the site is run alongside it.

Luka Müller does the research underneath it — licences checked against the regulators' own registers, corporate records, payment and withdrawal terms. Every operator page on this site carries his check, and 267 of the casino reviews do too. His name appears on the pages his work covers, so you can see at a glance which ones.

You should know whose judgement you are reading, and who to write to when it is wrong.

Independence

MrWager earns a commission when some readers sign up with a casino through our links. That funding is what keeps the site free to read, and we state it in the footer of every page rather than in a paragraph you have to go looking for.

It buys nothing editorial. No operator can pay for a higher score, a better position in a list, or the removal of something unflattering. Commercial partners do not see, approve or edit a page before it is published, and they are not told in advance what a review will say. When a casino we earn from falls short, we write that it falls short — there are several on this site where we do exactly that.

Where our facts come from

We check against primary sources, not other review sites:

• Licences against the regulator's own register, not the badge in the casino's footer.
• Bonus terms, wagering and limits from the operator's current published terms.
• Company details — who owns a brand, which registration number, which jurisdiction — from corporate records and the operator's own disclosures.
• Withdrawal behaviour from the operator's stated terms together with its track record across its other brands.

If we cannot confirm something, we do not state it as fact. An empty field is better than a confident guess.

We publish what we measured

Plenty of review sites quote live-chat response times to the second across hundreds of casinos. We do not measure those, so we do not print them. Where a judgement rests on an operator's record and its published terms rather than a first-hand test, the review says so.

That distinction is the whole value of the site. A site that claims to have tested everything has to keep claiming it, and eventually the claim outruns the work — and by then you cannot tell which of its numbers were ever real.

Corrections

Terms change constantly and operators do not announce it. When we learn a page is wrong, we fix it — we do not quietly delete it and pretend it was never there.

We write about casinos, and MrWager streams them. Neither is a suggestion that gambling is a way to make money — it is not, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.
